Navigating through graphs
- Scroll through graphs using the scrollbars, the mouse wheel or the arrow keys.
- For faster scrolling, use the arrow keys while holding down the Shift key.
Alternatively, use the keys PgUp, PgDown, Home and End.
- To immediately get to the graph origin (the upper left corner of the graph), strike “o”.
- To move the graph using the mouse, press and hold down the middle mouse button or the “<” key.
- To search for a node, press Ctrl + f.
Scaling the graph
- To zoom in and out, use “+” and “−”.
- To set the scale factor to 100%, press “0” (zero).
- To set the scale factor so that the entire graph fits in the window, press “m”.
Markers
A marker saves the current position and scaling factor, enabling you to jump between different points of interest
in a graph.
- To set a new marker, press “.” (period).
- To see a list of all markers, press Ctrl + m. Double-click on a marker to load it.
Markers are lost once you quit aiSee or open another graph in the same aiSee window.
Navigating through huge graphs
- Use the panner mode to quickly zoom out, move to a different place in the graph, and zoom back in:
- Click on the panner icon in the toolbar or the little button in the lower right corner of the graph window.
- Move the highlighted rectangle using the mouse.
- To zoom in, left-click. To cancel and return to your original position, press Esc.
- Wander through the graph by following edges:
- Select an edge by left-clicking on it.
- Press “e” to follow the edge to the end that is farthest away from your current position.
- Use Tab or the mouse wheel to select the next edge to be followed.
Additional node information
Apart from a label, up to three pieces of additional information can be
associated with each node or subgraph.
- To access this information, simply left-click on a node or a subgraph and press “i”.
- To close an open information window, left-click on it.
- To close all information windows at once, press Ctrl + i.
To re-open them all at once, hit Ctrl + i again.
Subgraph operations
- See the menu Folding.
- Use hot keys:
- “f” to fold selected
subgraphs into a summary node
- “b” to unfold selected
summary nodes into separate boxes
- “u” to unfold selected
summary nodes or boxed subgraphs so that they become an integral part of the top-level graph
Changing the layout
In the menu “Windows”, select “Layout options”, or simply press Ctrl + l.
File operations
- Ctrl + r or F5 to reload the current graph.
- Ctrl + o to open another graph.
- Ctrl + w to close the current aiSee window.
- Ctrl + q to close all aiSee windows and completely exit aiSee.
